Demons send two wrestlers to the state tournament, with Fletcher Green at 113 and Tristan Pohren at 120.

Washington wrestled at the district meet on Saturday to try and qualify, and both Demons had to work for it.

Green lost his first match to Brendan Gould of Assumption, the eventual champion of the bracket. Green then had to wrestle for third first, and win against Cody McNeil of Mediapolis, which he beat by a 7-4 decision.

Finally he got a wrestle back match against Brice Everson of Camanche and went home with the win and the state birth by a decision of 2-0.

Pohren won his first match against Jacob Fenske of Assumption by a decision of 4-2, but lost the championship match to Elliot Henderson of West Liberty by a Major decision of 11-2.

Pohren was then sent to the second place bracket where he met Fenske again, but seeing as Pohren had already beat him earlier, grabbed second place and a trip to state.

Pohren and Green will make the trip on Thursday.
