The area’s legislators were at the Washington County Courthouse yesterday to hear from their constituents. At the second briefing of this session educators and school administrators brought up the issue of allowable growth. Senator Sandy Greiner shared that the Senate recently passed allowable growth at 4% in response to House action. Greiner added she thinks it would end up in between the two proposals at 3%. Washington Community School Superintendent Mike Jorgenson said it’s difficult to set up their budget when they don’t know how much revenue they’ll have. Washington’s first budget workshop is set for February 27^th. The issue is now up for debate in House.
