Ideas on how to improve Keota were brought to the table at a public meeting this week. Through the Iowa’s Living Roadways Community Visioning Program, the newly formed Keota Community Visioning Committee will receive help from the Iowa DOT, Iowa State University and Trees Forever in developing plans to enhance the city.

Keota Unlimited’s Melinda Eakins says ideas included bringing the Kewash Trail further in to town, making improvements to the park and creating small trails within the city.

She adds that anybody interested can attend their meetings. Their next general planning meeting is set for 6:30 Wednesday the 27th at Farmers Savings Bank of Keota.
