Hunters Safety Courses Offered

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is offering two hunters safety courses in Washington County. The first is a group of six sessions at Washington Middle School February 25th through the 28th and March 1st and 2nd. This class will meet from 3:30-5PM each school day and 8:30-11AM on Saturday. The second opportunity is three sessions March 26th, 28th and 30th at Marr Park near Ainsworth. Sessions on the 26th and 28th will meet from 6-9PM and the March 30th session will convene from 8AM to noon. Iowa law requires that each student receive a minimum of 10 hours of instruction and pass both a written and gun handling test to obtain their certificate. The individual must be at least 11 years of age to enroll must attend all classes and the courses are required for everyone born after 1972.
