The Lone Tree Lions played for a district Championship last night and was the second of three teams to do it, beating Preston 57-46.

The Lions were only outscored in the second quarter by one point, otherwise dominated the game.

Lone Tree was still double digit points under their scoring average, despite Bryan Forbes leading his team with 27 points and 10 rebounds good for a double-double.

Lone Tree moves on to the Sub-state champion match where they will face Dunkerton at Solon for a chance to go to state.

Both teams have just one loss, with Lone Tree’s coming to Danville and Dunkerton’s coming from North Tama 62-53.

Dunkerton’s top player is Kory Kuenstling with 383 points on the year, and Trevor Jacobsen is there to back him up with 294 points.

This game will be at Solon with tip-off 7. The winner will go on to the state tournament in Des Moines.
