A lawsuit filed against the Washington County Board of Supervisors will be evaluated next week. Last November, Residents for a Better Richmond Inc. filed a lawsuit against the board, claiming they didn’t have the authority to enter into a project note, which the lawsuit refers to as a loan agreement, that guarantees R.U.S.S. will be paid for the work they’ve done, should the County decide to halt or not to go through with the Richmond lagoon project. The board has made a motion to dismiss the lawsuit, claiming it has no merit. A hearing on the dismissal is scheduled for next Friday, where a judge will decide whether or not to dismiss the case.
