Two groups from Mid-Prairie’s Large Group Speech Team received All State Medals at an Iowa High School Speech Association event this month.  Student’s involved with Mid-Prairie’s entries into the Ensemble Acting and Short Film categories were awarded the medals at the Large Group All State Festival in Ames. In addition, the short film group was among the select few asked to show their entry at the festival.

Speech coach Mac Hopper says this is quite the accomplishment, adding that among the 40,000 students who take part in Iowa’s speech program, only 2 to 6% of them are asked to the all state event, even less are asked to perform.
