Mid-Prairie School Districts finances are in good shape. Business Manager at Mid-Prairie Cindy Steege (stay-gee) says they ended fiscal year 2012 with around $3.7 million in the general fund, and had an unspent balance of $3.5 million. She explains the district is benefiting from open enrollment, which this year will bring in 1.2 million. Also the district receives state incentives for sharing positions with Keota, including superintendent. They’re also paid directly by Keota for those services. She says overall, it’s a very healthy situation.
