The Washington County Conservation Board is presenting a program aimed at teaching preschoolers about turtles. The day is part of a series of small wonders programs for children ages 3 to 5, who must be accompanied by an adult.
It’s a half hour program with stories, crafts, and hands-on activities about turtles and their adaptions. Live turtles will be included. They also plan a hike if weather allows it. The Conservation Board says it presents these programs as a way for kids to connect with nature, and also for parents, grandparents, or others to have a meaningful shared experience with a child. The program is the afternoon of Saturday, February 23 at the Conservation Education Center at Marr Park west of Ainsworth.
