With 8 retirements, Mid-Prairie School District is tasked with filling those positions for next school year. According to Superintendent Mark Schneider, the school board decided to offer early retirement benefits for staff that have been with the district for ten years and are at least 55 years old.  High School Principal Gerry Beeler, Middle School Principal Nancy Hurd, Wellman and Washington Township Elementary Principal Evan Parrott, as well as 5 teachers decided to take advantage of the offer.

The offer includes single health insurance at their current premium until the individual turns 65.
