At last night’s meeting, before the budget hearing was set, the Washington City Council rehashed the issue of the local animal shelter’s level of funding. At their budget work session last week the contributions for WEDG, Washington Chamber of Commerce, Main Street Washington and Paws and More Animal Shelter were set. Last night, there was a motion to reconsider the funding, prompted in part due to the vague language for Paws and More’s contribution, which said $2,500 would be designated for the Trap, Neuter, Release Program. The council revised their funding to $12,500 for the next fiscal year, with no stipulations. They then set the budget hearing for March 6th.
