Administration at area schools are looking at ways to improve security. Last week the Washington Community School Board discussed submission of an application to the Washington County Riverboat Foundation for grant money to fund the project. After Washington contacted the other districts in the county including Mid-Prairie, Highland, Keota and Crawfordsville Elementary several of the districts decided to come together on one single application for funding. Included in the request will be Washington, Mid-Prairie, Highland and Crawfordsville Elementary, Keota did not choose to participate. If funds are granted Washington Schools plan to improve security cameras and implement buzz-in systems at the buildings in their district.
