The Washington County Board of Supervisors has accepted a bid for roadwork on 140th Street. The bid letting began yesterday morning and the lowest bid, submitted by DeLong Construction of Washington, was selected at the following board meeting. DeLong’s bid of around $896,000 was also the closest to the original estimate. Work on the stretch of road between Ginkgo Avenue and Highway 1 will begin no later than June 1st.

According to Washington County Engineer, Jacob Thorius, the work will involve restoring the roads crown and putting down an 8 to 9 inch rock base.
