The Washington County Board of Supervisors have accepted a bid for roadwork on 140th Street. The bid letting began at 9 this morning and the lowest bid, submitted by DeLong Construction of Washington, was selected at the following board meeting. DeLong’s bid of around $896,000 was also the closest to the original estimate. Work on the stretch of road between Ginkgo Avenue and Highway 1 will begin no later than June 1st.

According to Washington County Engineer, Jacob Thorius, the work will involve restoring the roads crown and putting down an 8 to 9 inch rock base.
