When getting mandated vaccines and boosters for your child, you may want to consider some that are just recommended. Traci Shirkey with Washington County Public Health says some of those include meningitis and hepatitis b vaccines, as well as the HPV (human papillomavirus) vaccine, which is now recommended for adolescent boys and girls. She notes public health can provide those vaccines or any other childhood or adolescent immunizations that are covered under the VFC Vaccines For Children Program.
