Although the weather outside may not seem golf like, the official day for the start of high school golf season has already come and gone.

The Washington boy’s golf team looks to have another great year, and qualify for state for the sixth straight year, despite losing many of their top senior players.

Head coach Mark Berhow has confidence that his younger players will step up to play, and that Washington will have some good competition in the Southeast Conference.

“We have three returning varsity golfers from last years squad, and we look to those guys for our leadership,” Berhow said. “We have some good competition in our conference, I think Fairfield will provide some good competition again for us, and do some battling for our conference title, but this year I think we have some quality golfers that will really help us be competitive.”

The Demon’s first meet is scheduled for April 4 at Washington. That meet would be one of four home conference meets this year for Washington.

Conference for the Demons are on May 7 at Mt. Pleasant, sectionals on May 10 and districts on May 17.
