The Mid-Prairie volleyball team has a new coach, and it is someone familiar with the area.

Cindy Miller, the former head coach of IMS has taken the job at Mid-Prairie and will be the head coach of the Golden Hawks next season.

Last year Miller’s team went 20-15 and 6-3 in the conference after losing to Mediapolis once and Winfield-Mt. Union twice.

Mid-Prairie Athletic Director Steve Hollan said they are happy to have Miller on board, especially with what she has done with the IMS program.

“We’re excited, she has an extensive volleyball background, she played in high school and college and just very involved in a lot of different volleyball community activities,” Hollan said. “It bring s a lot of excitement to the program, and she has a lot of energy and we’re just excited about it.”

Miller took IMS from 12-19 in 2010-11 to last year’s 20-15 record in one season.
