Four Washington men were arrested and are being charged with multiple accounts.
Twenty-two year old Nathan Douglas Mueller of Washington is charged with one B felony, seven C felonies, 12 D felonies and 11 misdemeanors. He faces a maximum jail time of 158 years and 270 days.
Nineteen year old Michael Patrick Mueller of Washington is charged with one B felony, five C felonies, seven D felonies and three Misdemeanors. He faces a maximum jail time of 115 years and 120 days.
Twenty-one-year-old Travis Alan Peterson of Washington is charged with one B felony, six C felonies, 11 D felonies and eight misdemeanors. He faces a maximum jail time of 143 years and 180 days.
And, nineteen-year-old Alexander Lee Fields of Washington is charged with one C felony and two D felonies. He faces a maximum jail time of 20 years.
The search warrants executed were a result of a several-month long investigation into thefts and criminal mischief throughout Washington, Louisa, Henry and Johnson counties. Stolen and vandalized property was tied back to each of the four counties.
Some of the stolen items included passenger vehicles, semis, an ATV, a riding lawnmower, a boat motor, vehicle parts and numerous hand and power tools. The total amount of damaged and stolen property is estimated to be around $340,000.
Agencies assisting with the case were the Washington Police Department, Washington County Conservation, Washington County Attorney’s Office, Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa City Police Department, Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Louisa County Sheriff’s Office and LEIN Region 6.
