The Mid-Prairie girl’s track and field team has chosen not to do any indoor meets this year, and focus on outdoor.

Their first outdoor meet is scheduled for Saturday at Regina, and with a forecast of 41, and before the snow, Mid-Prairie may be one of the few teams in the area who runs this week.

Golden Hawk head coach Chris Tyler said this meet is a great one to start with.

“It’s a pretty good meet, they usually have some pretty good competition there, as long as the weather holds out, it will be a pretty good day,” Tyler said. “So far this season we’ve just been battling the cold and then snow, I am hopeful that is behind us now and we can really get after it now with a little bit warmer temperatures.”

Mid-Prairie girls will also host back to back meets, but even closer than the boys. They will share the home meet on April 16, and they will also host on April 18.

Conference will be at Durant on May 3.
