The rates for dust control applications will remain the same. The decision was made Tuesday at the Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting. The application fee is $50 and the late fee, after April 30th, is $100.

Jacob Thorius, county engineer, explained to the board that this service is offered but the county loses money on it. He said that his primary concern is to have a safe road for the traveling public.

According to Thorius, approximately $10,000 in fees was collected last year but nearly $56,000 was spent on the entire dust control process.
