Description: A group of 15 traveling to Guatemala this summer will be serving at Pizza Ranch from 5 to 8pm Wednesday, March 13th at the Pizza Ranch in Washington. Pizza Ranch will be donating 10% of buffet sales and all tips to the mission trip. Funds raised will be used to purchase wheelchairs, food, clothing, and construction supplies to help the needy.

A celebration of life for 94-year-old Russell Kempf, of Williamsburg, formerly of Wellman, will be held Monday, March 18, at 11:30 a.m. at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. The body will be cremated following the service. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. A memorial fund has been established for the Highland Ridge Care Center and the Wellman Asbury United Methodist Church.
The Washington County Board of Supervisors this morning approved a motion to ask the planning and zoning commission to submit a report regarding rescinding zoning and potential ramifications if it is rescinded. The board asked that the report be presented to the board no later than June 4th, which is 60 days after the board’s next regularly scheduled meeting to be held on April 2nd.
