A prairie burn at Marr Park is scheduled for Friday, April 5th. The Washington County Conservation Board event will start at 7:15 p.m. with a presentation covering the role of prairie fires in the past, benefits they have on the landscape and tools and methods used for doing controlled burns. The fire will be lit at 8 p.m. and may burn quickly, possibly lasting no more than 15 minutes.

In case of wet or windy weather, the burn will be cancelled but the indoor program will still be held.
