A 5k run and walk in Washington is planned for May 18th to raise money for cystic fibrosis research. Brianne Banger and Marcy Stout are organizing the event in part because each has seen the disease affect loved ones. Stout’s husband and Banger’s three-month old son, Gunner, both have cystic fibrosis, which is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system.

Registration information for the 5k can be found on the Deep Breaths for Gunner Facebook page. All proceeds from the event will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for research for a cure.
