Quitlers from across the Midwest are traveling to Washington County this weekend for the 42nd Kalona Quilt Show and Sale. Katie Karnes, who helps with the event, says two thirds of the quilts on display will be new, while the rest will be made up of antique quilts from 1850 to 1940. This year around 300 hand quilted pieces will be for sale and for viewing at the Kalona Community Center.
