Fear of a late frost may have some in the area waiting to start their garden, but those who are eager to begin have some options. Washington County Master Gardener Sheila Gerot says plants in the cole crop family, like cabbage and broccoli, can handle a frost. Vegetables outside that classification, but safe to plant, include onion, radish and peas.
