At this point last year, a farmer in the county was a month into planting, this year he still hasn’t been able to start. John Berdo grows corn and raises livestock southwest of Washington. He says he started planting around the 5th of April last year. He explains preparations are underway, with the application of Anhydrous Ammonia and manure, with the hopes of beginning next week.

The cold weather and rain have stalled his plans for planting, but Berdo explains the moisture will be beneficial in the long run.
