The Washington Demon boy’s track and field team went to Wapello last night and finished third overall as a team with 68 points.

Washington had two championship relays with the 4×800 meter relay team of Austin Latchem, Alan Sanchez, Justin Hoffman and Noah Lebsack running a 4:46.81, and their 4×400 meter relay team of Gage Redlinger, Spencer Woods, Kyle Roder and Lebsack running a time of 4:42.80.

Other top finishes for the Demons were Tommy Peterson finishing second in the shot with a throw of 45’2”, Jacob Hennigan finishing second in the high hurdles with a time of 15.72, and in the low hurdles with a time of 1:00.66.

The Shuttle hurdle finished third with a team of Hennigan, Redlinger, Logan Moeller and Jack Giardino with a time of 1:06.94 and the 1600 meter medley relay was also third with the team of Garret Covington, Tanner Knupp, Noah Lebsack and Alan Sanchez with a time of 4:02.

Washington won’t get much time off, as they will head to the Denny White Relays in Mt. Pleasant on Thursday.
