The Washington Demon’s track and field team has a home meet tonight at Case field.

The Demons have had six total meets between the boys and the girls canceled, leaving them not many more to qualify for the Drake Relays that happen the last weekend of April.

Head boys coach Steve Roth says tonight may be a night that some of his relays make that next step to Drake.

“For a couple of relays I have high expectations, I really believe that we are about a handoff away that could possible qualify for the next level, and the next level is the Drake relays, but that’s my expectations, so I think we have a good shot,” Roth said. “Like I said we one handoff that set us back last Thursday, but we worked on it, and the rest of them just see where they are at. Just keep them moving and improve on our times, it is going to be a nice night. Last Thursday we kind of ran for placing, so tonight we’re going to run for times and see where we are at.”

The meet tonight starts at 4 with the field events, with running at 4:30. This meet is also the run against cancer meet, where you are asked to wear pink to raise cancer awareness.

During the meet there will be t-shirts sold as well as baked goods from every team to raise money. There will also be a rememberance walk during the meet sometime for anyone who knows someone with or has had cancer.

Tonight’s meet is at 4.
