English River at Kalona Nears Record Flood Level

As of 5 a.m. today, the English River at Kalona is over flood stage with preliminary water levels at 22.4 to 22.6 feet, flood stage for the area is 14 feet; the record was set in 1993 at 22.55 feet.

The Iowa River near Lone Tree is also above flood stage. It is at 17.1 feet and flood stage for the area is 15 feet. The Iowa River at Columbus Junction is also above flood stage at 19.4 feet with flood stage for the area being 19 feet. And the Iowa River at Wapello has risen 2.6 feet in the past 24 hours, with waters at 20.2 feet; flood stage for the area is 20 feet.
