A report of a hog finishing barn belonging to John Gent at 2010 180th Street, Wellman, was received at approximately 9:45 p.m. Sunday night by the Washington County Communications Center. Reportedly, the building was nearly fully engulfed and hogs were inside.
Emergency personnel from the Kalona Fire Department, Washington Fire Department, Wellman Fire Department, Washington County Rescue Squad, Washington County Ambulance, West Chester First Responders and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the scene in addition to Alliant Energy.
