The IMS soccer team continued to win last night, as they came out and beat Danville 2-1.

After playing Williamsburg the night before to the final seconds, and playing in soggy and 30 degree temperatures IMS took advantage when they could.

Dillon Bender took a direct kick with 10 minutes left in the first half from 25 yards out, Bender’s shot went off a defender and right to the scoring foot of Justin Boller to make the score 1-0.

Out of the half time break, IMS continued to mount their pressure attack, this time they sent the ball forward to Nicholas Yoder who nailed the ball into the upper corner of the goal to make the score 2-0.

Danville got one goal late, as a direct kick from 25 yards sailed over Freshmen Jorey Conrad’s hands to make the final 2-1 score.

IMS head coach Marcus Miller said after playing Williamsburg, there were some changes that had to be made which made it tough to know what would happen against Danville.

“Last night we had some guys who were pretty tired, a couple of guys who couldn’t play because of injuries from the night before, so it was nice to see other people step up, and we kind of had to fit the pieces together again, and kind of gut one out last night,” Miller said.

IMS is now 5-2 overall and 4-1 in conference play, they play again Thursday against Central Lee of Donnellson.
