The Golden Hawk boy’s soccer team opens up play tonight when they travel to Clear Creek Amana.

Last year the boys were 6-8, and were led by Austin Errthum, a player that will return to the pitch this year and look to lead his team again.

Erthum had 18 goals his sophomore year, and four assists, three players tied for second behind him with two goals.

The Clippers went 13-5 last year, and allowed just 16 goals against.

Mid-Prairie head coach Pat Cady talked with KCII about how he sees his team’s season going this year from start to finish.

“I’m confident that we’ll be able to have a good record this year, and we really hope that maybe hold a sub-state qualifier, and then on May 30 be a playing team in Des Moines and not just a spectator,” Cady said.

Mid-Prairie and Clear Creek Amana play tonight at 4:30 at CCA.
