Mid-Prairie Co-Ed Realys Boy’s Results

Mid-Prairie had their Hawk Co-Ed relays last night.
Mid-Prairie finished second as a team with 74 points, Washington was fourth with 68 and Columbus was eighth with 28. The winner was Mt. Pleasant with 135.
Washington’s Tommy Peterson finished third in the shot with a toss of 45’10”.
Ricky Rivers won the lone jump for Columbus by three inches with a leap of 20’6”.
Washington and Mid-Prairie finished first and second in the 4×800 meter relay, Washington’s time was 8:42.07, Mid-Prairie was 8:42.36.
Washington was first in the shuttle hurdle with a time of 1:05.31, and Mid-Prairie went first and second in the 100 meter dash with Ryan Hoffman winning in a time of 10.99, and Canaan Powell in second. They repeated that performance in the 200 meter dash with Hoffman winning in a time of 22.93, and Powell second in 23.80.
Head coach Aaron Zander spoke after the meet about how his team raced.
“Absolutely thrilled with how we ran tonight, about everyone ran season’s best, if not personal bests, so we had a lot of great events tonight, very enthusiastic about how we ran,” Zander said.
Columbus showed their speed and won the 4×200 meter relay in a time of 1:34.99, and Washington’s Jacob Hennigan was third in the 110 high hurdles with a time of 16.04, and then came back and finished second in the 400 hurdles in a time of 59.67.
Washington head coach Steve Roth said the weather is as good as they will get this year, and his team ran well.
“We competed very well, I’m very pleased,” Roth said. “It’s a nice night, I mean if we’re calling this nice, but it is as good as you’re going to get right now in April, and my kids have really stepped up.”
Washington was third in the Distance medley, and Mid-Prairie’s Zeb Schwartz was second in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:10.24.
In the final two races of the night, Mid-Prairie won the 4×100 with a time of 45.36, and Columbus was second in 45.42. In the 4×400 meter relay, Washington was third in a time of 3:44.16.
