The 0-1 Mid-Prairie girl’s soccer team will host West Liberty if the weather holds out.

The Golden-Hawks dropped their first game 3-2 to Clear Creek Amana, but are looking forward to their home opener.

Their leading scorers are Meghan Redlinger and Renee Buckwalter, both with goals, while Kattie Redlinger has set them both up with two assists.

West Liberty has a smaller team that will make it tough for them to be able to sub against the fast attack of Mid-Prairie.

Head coach Bristol Harris said he doesn’t know a lot about West Liberty, but that he hopes tonight’s game is a close one.

“I’m not really sure what West Liberty has going just yet, we’re looking for it to be a close match, I’m hoping that it will be a nice and close match, I don’t really like those blowout games, that way the kids can all get out and get some good play time in,” Harris said. “ I think with the Redlinger’s up front and Allison Riggan we’re going to put on a good show tonight.”

The Golden Hawks host the Belles at Mid-Prairie at 4:30 tonight.
