The Mid-Prairie boy’s soccer team will play Wapello today at a noon start.

The Golden Hawks are 0-2 after dropping a 3-0 game to Clear Creek Amana, and a 3-2 game to West Liberty.

Mid-Prairie is led by Austin Errthum and Matt McGaffey each with one goal on the year.

Wapello is 0-1 after the 13-0 thrashing that IMS gave them earlier this week.

Head coach Pat Cady said he doesn’t know much about Wapello, so the team will learn as they play.

“You know we’ve never played Wapello, this will be our first meeting ever, I don’t know a lot about the program, I’ve never done any research on quick stats with them, [but] we will start out the first 10 minutes of the game to assume that everyone on their team is dangerous, and then as the game progresses into the 20th minute we’ll start making adjustments on how to target the man we need to mark, or if it looks like we’re just pushing the other guy forward to create offense instead of being a defensive team,” Cady said.

Mid-Prairie and Wapello kick off at noon today at Mid-Prairie.
