Waters Past Flood Stages

English River at Kalona

As of 5 a.m. today, the English River at Kalona is over flood stage with water levels at 19.5 feet, flood stage for the area is 14 feet; the water has risen nearly 13 feet in 24 hours.

Group Tours Washington County

Nearly 30 visitors from Iowa State Savings Bank in Knoxville went on a tour in Washington County yesterday. The group went on barn quilt tour through the county, heard a presentation about the Wehr Honey Farm, visited shops downtown, had lunch at Dodici’s, toured the Conger House and went to the Wooden Wheel Vineyard. Michelle Peiffer, Director of the Chamber explains that the group filled out surveys which the chamber will use to improve future tours, which they hope to have many of.

$11.3 Million in Water System Projects Potentially
