A program about puppy mills in the state of Iowa is being presented in Washington tomorrow by Iowa Friends of Companion Animals. PAWS & More animal shelter director Amber Talbot says, that the term puppy mill is defined as facilities that house more than 400 dogs at any given time and they are kept in very inhumane and often dirty conditions. She adds Iowa has the second largest number of puppy mills in the nation.

The event will give attendees avenues to pursue should they feel a desire to help the animals, such as contacting legislators. It will be held at the Washington Public Library from 11 to noon tomorrow.
