The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has released its water summary for March 8th through April 3rd. The drought monitor shows most of southeast Iowa no longer in drought with Henry, Louisa, Des Moines, Lee, Van Buren and Muscatine counties returning to normal conditions and most of Washington and Jefferson counties have returned to normal conditions. However Northwest and North-central Iowa are still experiencing severe and extreme drought conditions.

Precipitation during the time period was recorded as just above normal, with normal being 2.15-inches. Stream flow in most of the state is normal and shallow groundwater in eastern Iowa has returned to normal.
