In its first year participating, Washington County is doing well in a state health challenge. According to Erin Rugg with Washington County’s Healthiest State Initiative, as part the 10 Week Wellness Challenge, a Community Cup is being held. Counties are being ranked by the percentage of adult participants starting and completing the challenge, and the highest percentage of participants in the school challenge. The numbers will be compared with population data from the US Census Bureau.
The governor will present the traveling trophy to the winner of the Community Cup Challenge in mid-April. Washington County is in 2nd place. The ten week challenge ends tomorrow.
