The Washington Demon Girl’s qualified two events for the Drake Relays.

The 4×100 meter relay got in for the Demon girls, while Sammy Ellingson also got in, after she matched her career best at 5’4”

Girls head coach Stefanie Tschantz said Ellingson had already had a spot at Drake at 5’2”, but she relaxed and popped off her jump that is now tied for fifth in the state.

“Sammy is tied for fifth right now, I think at Mt. Pleasant she went in with the mind set know that she pretty much already took care of her spot for drake so she could relax and just jump, so it was nice to see her just relax and it was nice to see her just be relaxed and go jump how she can jump,” Tschantz said. “She cleared 5’4” on her last attempt, and cleared it very easily, she probably cleared it by two inches. I know that she is eyeing that school record of 5’5” , so I wouldn’t be surprised to see that fall down yet this year.”

The girl’s 4×100 meter relay is on Friday at 5:15 P.M., and Ellingson will jump on Friday at 9:45 A.M.
