The 2A and 3A schools will run at the state track and field meet at Drake stadium today, but they will run in the afternoon session.
Starting at 2:40, the boy’s shuttle hurdle relay will go off, with the Washington boy’s running. The next event for the afternoon being run will be the 100 meter dash prelim for the girls at 4:20, with Meghan and Kattie Redlinger of Mid-Prairie running, followed by Macy Marek of Washington running for 3A, on the boy’s side of the 100, starting at 4:35 is Ryan Hoffman of Mid-Prairie.
At 4:50, the Mid-Prairie and Columbus Junction girl’s 4×800 will run the final, followed by the Mid-Prairie boys at 5:40. The 200 meter dash prelims will be at 6:20 for Megan Redinger of the Golden Hawks, and at 6:40 it will be Ryan Hoffman running his prelim.
Not much rest time for Hoffman as Mariah Reighard will run the 400 at 7:00, and Hoffman will run at 7:20, just 40 minutes after his 200.
Finally the girl’s shuttle hurdle will go off at 7:40 to end the first day, with Columbus running first, followed by Washington.
In the field events, Sammy Ellingson and Lauren Kimball will both be high jumping today, while Mauricio Ramierz, Ricky Rivers, Heaven Chandler and Becca Davisson all of Columbus Junction long jump on the opening day.
