Columbus Junction got the best of IMS soccer last night winning 1-0.
The opening minutes of the game showed that Columbus was out to set the pace of this game, pushing the ball up the field, and using a swarming defense to keep possession. The game was scoreless through the mid-way point of the first half, until a bad IMS bounce went Columbus’s way, and put into the back of the net.
In the second half IMS tried to up the pressure, but could not grab a goal, falling for the second game in a row, dating back to Saturdays Superconference championship game.
IMS falls to 13-6, and will play Thursday at Mid-Prairie for the last game of the regular season, and a possible second round match up preview for the sub-state tournament.
