The Washington Demon and Highland Husky baseball teams will take their game up to Cedar Rapids again this year to play at the Kernal’s stadium.

This is the second year in a row that these two teams have played in Cedar Rapids, and will be the second game for Washington, but the fourth for Highland.

Washington is 1-0 this season after beating Eddyville-Blakesburg-Freemont in the home opener 4-2.

Tanner Knupp was the starting pitcher in that game, and could get the nod this game, or Coach Nathan Miller could move to a different option on the mound.

Highland brings back a Junior heavy team, with three of their top six bats returning, including Jacob Hootman their top pitcher from last year with a 5-6 record, 1.88 ERA and 92 strikeouts.

Washington won last years meeting 14-2, neither starting pitcher returns for the teams.

This game will start at 7, despite what the schedule says. You can catch all of the action right here on AM and FM KCII and KCIIradio.com under radio plus as we open up the baseball season on KCII.
