The Washington Demons ran at the district meet last night, and had some automatic qualifiers.

The boy’s had no automatic qualifying times, and with some meets being postponed to today, will have to wait until noon on Saturday to see if they qualified.

The girl’s won two events, with Sammy Ellingson winning the high jump and her team mate Lauren Kimball finishing second, both punched their ticket to the state track and field meet next week.

Kaitlin Buchholz also was a district champion in the 400 hurdles, also automatically qualifying for the state meet.

Buchholz talked after the meet about what it fells like to be going to state.

“Well there is no better time [to run your best], if you came to this race tonight you obviously saw me jumping up and down several times tonight, so it’s just indescribable,” Buchholz said.

The full list of qualifiers should be out on Saturday since there were meets postponed until tonight. You can watch the Demons run at state next week on Thursday through Saturday next week at Drake Stadium.
