Rental rates for Iowa farmland have risen over the last five years, according to a study from Iowa State University. District 9, which includes Washington, Louisa, Keokuk, Jefferson, Henry, Des Moines, Lee, Van Buren, Wapello and Mahasksa counties, has increased from $173 per acre for corn and soybeans to $229 this year. This year the state average is $270 per acre to rent.
