A meeting with representatives from the cities and counties in the English River watershed is being held tonight. This is the first step in an effort led by the City of Kalona to form a watershed management group.

Rusty Rogerson, city administrator in Riverside, has been invited, and is planning to attend. He says the meeting in North English will include a discussion on the possibility of entering into a 28E agreement.

He notes the agreement would allow them to leverage federal funds individual cities cant access for flood protection measures.
