The state track and field meet continued for 2A and 3A on Friday, and here are the results from the afternoon section.

In high jump, Columbus Junction’s Angel Rodriguez finished 17th at 6’, and Washington’s Tommy Peterson was 16th in the shot put at 45’10.5”. Washington’s Stephanie Fishback was 16th in the long jump, at 15’9.75”.

In the running events, Mid-Prairie’s Distance Medley was eighth in 4:22.37, while Washington’s was 24th in 4:33.98. In the 400 hurdles Washington’s Gage Redlinger was 24th in 1:00.10, and on the girl’s side, Sammy Ellingson was 17th in 1:10.60, while Kaitlin Buchholz was 1:10.94.

The Columbus Junction boy’s 4×200 finished 20th in 1:34.13, and Washington was 23rd in 1:34.56. In the girl’s 4×200 Mid-Prairie was seventh in 1:48.91, while Washington was 17th in 1:49.15. Moving on to the 110 high hurdles, Jake Hennigan was 18th in 15.97, and in the 100 meter hurdles Columbus Junction’s Becca Davisson qualified seventh in 16.43.

In the boy’s distance Medley, Mid-Prairie was 23rd. In the girl’s 4×100 Mid-Prairie ran the second fastest qualifying time in 50.58, while Washington was 16th in 51.55. On the boy’s side Columbus Junction was 23rd in 45.8.

The final event for the day was the 4×400 meter relay, for the girl’s side Washington finished 24th in 4:14.21, while the Demon boy’s were also 24th in 3:38.15.
