Washington Softball is shocked by upset win by Highland on Friday night.
The No. 5 Demon softball team hadn’t played since Monday against Columbus Junction when they played Highland at home, and Highland came after them.
The Huskies not only won they shutout Washington 7-0. Katie Springer had one walk, five hits and eight strikeouts in the win.
Cheyanne Adamson and Kassie Vazquez both went 2-3 with an RBI, while Paige Wieland went 2-4 with an RBI.
Highland improves to an impressive 4-0 start this year, while Washington falls to 1-1. Highland will play again on Tuesday against Lone Tree, while Washington will play Wednesday, and start conference play against Fairfield.
