IMS soccer defeated Danville last night to move on in the Southeast Iowa Superconference tournament.

IMS won the game 4-1, and started off with good pressure, and scored six minutes into the game off a corner kick by Dillon Bender, and a header goal by Reggie Hostetler, and five minutes later, it was Bender with a header assisted by Enrique Sanchez to make the score 2-0.

Danville cut the lead in half going into half time to make the score 2-1.

In the second half IMS upped the pressure again scoring 15 minutes into the game, making it 3-1, and then Enrique Sanchez got his goal of the night, after it slipped out of the Danville goalies hands and in for a goal to make the final 4-1.

IMS takes on Highland today in the second round, head coach Marcus Miller said Highland gave them a good battle earlier in the season.

“The last time we played Highland they gave us fits, the weather wasn’t very good, so hopefully the weather is nicer, and then it’s just coming out and working on the things that we do, and do it well and functioning together as a team, when we’ve been working together and been staying positive with each other out there, things just go much better.”

IMS plays Highland at IMS, and if they win will play for the SEISC Championship.
