IMS dropped their soccer match to West Liberty last night in a one goal game.

Rainy and slick conditions made it a challenge for both teams to find their footing, but both teams had good scoring chances, but it was IMS who knocked in the first goal of the game by Reggie Hostetler for the early 1-0 lead.

West Liberty came back and responded though with a goal 17 minutes into the half, then a controversial call lead to a West Liberty penalty kick that lead to a 2-1 West Liberty lead at half.

The second half lead to worse conditions on the field, but IMS’s Peyton Thomson sent one past the goalie to even it up 2-2. West Liberty again responded though off a deflection to score once more and make it 3-2.

IMS did everything they could in the end to try and tie it up, but the clock ran out and West Liberty got the win.

IMS moves to 11-4 on the season, and will host Danville on Friday during the Southeast Iowa Superconference soccer tournament.
